Black Sexuality: When Sex Isn’t So Cut And Dry

Black Sexuality: When Sex Isn't So Cut And Dry

Sexuality. Black people having sex. It was cut and dry but as of late- there’s an
“ality” for every day of the month. I’m sorry. I’m old. I am used to the regular schtick: heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual. I’m used to two genders no matter how you identify. I guess that isn’t enough either.

I know that somebody’s going to get in their feelings. I’m going to be called some kind of “phobe” and that’s fine. Somebody will try to come for me and that’s fine too (don’t try me though). Hear me out. I’m not trying to normalize or reduce what you call yourself. Do you. Let’s be clear though. I have many close gay, trans, bi and lesbian friends and even they don’t understand this shit. No, I didn’t just pull a “some of my best friends are black” move. I am giving a point of reference. Let’s be honest. YOU don’t understand this shit. Literally, people have turned sexuality into new math.

Pansexuals, omnisexuals, demisexuals, asexuals, crysexuals, mammosexuals, amphibisexuals… it’s a lot.  A LOT. It’s like someone is making terms up as they go along to troll the “normals”. I don’t have hang ups about sex. Get it how you live, boo!

Times change. Yes. Evolution, however,  has not created multiple genders. Hermaphrodites  are still made up of female and male parts. This exists in the animal and plant world. I need answers. Actually, I don’t. I need logic. Sexuality is pretty cut and dry for me.

I’m not here to police who a person does or doesn’t have sex with or how a person identifies. These are things that I will continue to reiterate. LGBTQ has now turned into LGBTQABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP. Heterosexuality has its shit too but we aren’t inventing new terms for a feeling. Hmmmm, I feel like a unicorn when I have sex with my husband. That doesn’t make me a heterounicornicopeiasexual. Also, my feelings aren’t enveloped in religious dogma either. I’m probably going to hell before everybody. (Pray for me saints!)

In summation, I will be upfront with you. The triad of sexuality is what I know and even with a thorough breakdown of those other “alities”. It always come down to those.

At the end of the day, it’s all love. Respect is the key and I respect all of my brothers and sisters in whatever struggle we are facing.

One love…. 🙂

You feel like a unicorn huh? How exactly does a unicorn feel when they are having sex?

    • I have no idea but it sounds as crazy as the rest of this stuff.
